WINNIE'S WARRIORS:

BAMBI

Bambi came to Charlotte’s Freedom Farm from Mexico through PAWS R US and an incredible woman named Doly. We believe she was hit by a car before being rescued, leaving both of her back legs too badly injured to save.

Despite everything she’s been through, Bambi doesn’t let her disability slow her down. She gets around amazingly well both in and out of her wheelchair and is one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet.

TAYLOR

Taylor came to the farm in January 2022 through Rescue Dogs of Lebanon-Canada. He was born with deformities affecting all four legs and has extra foot pads and toenails, earning him the nickname “Taylor the Octodog.”

Although he is our most physically disabled dog, Taylor gets around incredibly well and is one of the happiest, most determined dogs you’ll ever meet.

WALLY

Wally joined our family in February 2022 after traveling all the way from Northern Ontario. He was born with permanently bent front legs and now uses two sets of custom prosthetic legs—one long set and one short set—depending on the activity.

Wally is Winnie’s best friend and rarely leaves his side. He loves swimming in the summer, playing in the snow during the winter, and is always ready for the next adventure.

DUNCAN

Duncan came to the farm in August 2022 after a rescue in Texas asked if we could give him a home. He was born with congenital front leg deformities similar to Winnie’s and is also blind and deaf.

Duncan may experience the world differently, but that has never stopped him from living a happy life. He loves exploring the farm, playing with his friends, and proving that disabilities don’t define him.

BEE

Bee came to Charlotte’s Freedom Farm in October 2022 after being rescued from a high-kill shelter in Texas. At approximately six years old and weighing just 9 pounds, she had older injuries, including a broken pelvis that left her back legs paralyzed.

Bee may be tiny, but she’s unbelievably fast in her custom wheelchair. She has a huge personality packed into a little body and never lets her disability slow her down.

OLIVE

Olive joined the farm in April 2023 after traveling from Ohio. She was born with paralyzed back legs and arrived with one rear leg and her tail already amputated. Her remaining back leg was later amputated after she came to us.

Our 40-pound Sheepdog/Poodle mix is the fastest wheelie girl around! Olive absolutely loves her wheelchair, adores playing with the other dogs, and lives every day to the fullest.

GATOR

Gator came to Charlotte’s Freedom Farm in October 2025 when he was just six weeks old. He was found in London, Ontario with his mom and brother, and because of his congenital front leg deformities, we were asked if we could take him in.

As he’s grown, Gator has tried Winnie’s puppy wheelchair and even custom prosthetics, but neither has been the perfect fit. We’re still figuring out what works best for him, and no matter what, this goofy little guy never lets his disability stop him from having fun.

SPROUT

Sprout is our newest rescue, arriving at the farm in April 2026 after being injured in an accident in Mexico, likely after being hit by a car. At approximately six years old and weighing just 8 pounds, she’s still healing and learning to use her wheelchair.

Sprout has made incredible progress already. She’s a sweet little girl with a gentle personality, and we can’t wait to watch her confidence continue to grow.
