Bambi came to Charlotte's Freedom Farm from Mexico through PAWS R US and an awesome lady named Doly! She actually came in November 2020, before I was even born! Bambi was found in rough shape and unfortunately had to have both her back legs amputated. She gets around extremely well - better than I do to be honest. Bambi is a total sweetheart and I’m excited for you to follow her journey through life at the farm.
Taylor just came to the farm on Jan 2, 2022 through Rescue Dogs of Lebanon-CANADA, he's from Lebanon! His nickname is Taylor the Octodog (after an octopus 🐙) because he has 8 sets of foot pads and toe nails - one on top and one on the bottom 😯. He has deformed bones and joints as well in all 4 legs. Tay saw the vet already and we are waiting for a referral to the Ontario Veterinary College to talk to a specialist about his mobility. Tay is about 1 and such a happy guy, we play and have lots of fun together - I’m excited for you to see more of him!!
Wally arrived at the farm in February of 2022. He was born in November of 2021, and came all the way from Northern Ontario. He is my little brother even though he is growing bigger than me!
Wally was born with deformed front legs that are permanently bent. Luckily he is a candidate for prosthetics, and has really cool "boots" that he wears to help him get around the farm.
Wally was also able to use my old wheelchairs since he's arrived at the farm, sharing is caring!
We became instant best friends and are always together. Whether it's laying under the picnic table or checking on the other animals at the farm, we are not usually far apart!
Duncan and his whole family were dumped outside in Texas and found by a wonderful couple who took them in.
A US rescue took his Mom, Dad and 4 siblings. Duncan was born with deformed front arms (very similar to mine) and he is also blind and deaf. The rescue reached out to see if Duncan could come live on the farm because they heard how well all the animals are cared for here.
He travelled for 24 hours by car and arrived on August 26th at 8 weeks old. He is too small for my smallest wheelchair right now, but our friend 3D printed him one to practice in for now!
